This is a fun game of chance played by placing game pieces onto a colourful canvas board and with shell-shaped throw pieces.

Black Elephant, White Elephant 

Kalanay Belanay, a game from Mangalore, was taught to the Kreeda staff by a lady anxious to see the games she played as a child passed on to the next generation. This is a true representation of the value of research and the role of all people in ensuring that these games are preserved. Traditionally played with shells, we have instead provided wooden shell-shaped throw pieces made by artisans in Channapatna, in the interest of biodiversity.
