All 5 rules of Plural cards and Irregular plurals cards included. Instructions: Teach your child the English names of 5 or 6 of the single objects. Ask him to find the matching cards that show more than one of each of the picture projects. Tell him how to say the plural. Show him how to spell the plural. Continue till all single words and their plurals have been learned. Ask your child to sort out all the plurals that are made by adding only the letter s to the single word. Ask him to sort out the es plurals and their singulars. Sort out the plurals that change final y to I and add es. Note: in words like key and toy, the y is not changed to an i. This is because the y is preceded by a vowel. Sort out the plurals that change f or fe to ves. Sort out the odd plurals that are the same as singulars (deer/deer). Sort out the odd plurals like man/men, child/children, etc. Practice saying the plural when shown on the singular card. Practice writing the plural when shown the singular card. Note: If the words singular and plural seem to abstract, you can simply say one and two or three or many, i.e. one toy, three toys.
